So far the Sprint Cup Series has been all over the road. Tom Jensen of SpeedTV.com broke things down nicely in a piece that was run by Fox News online. In it he discussed the shifty start.
According to Jensen, a few of the teams who were expected to start strong fell flat early on, only to rally back for the last few races. Among them were Joe Gibbs racers Danny Hamlin and Kyle Busch, whose average finishing position fell below 15th for the first five or six races.
Then came a sudden turn around. Busch and Hamlin’s average finishing spots jumped to somewhere near the 8th position. Will they be able to hold on for the as the season nears the halfway point? That’s something we’ll have to keep our eyes and ears on starting this Sunday at the Dover International Speedway.

Brian Vickers fans caught a nasty surprise this week after it was announced that he won’t make the race Sunday. As of now, all we know is that he is being cared for in the hospital for ‘undisclosed medical conditions.’
Teammate Casey Mears will be filling in for him in the No. 83 Red Bull car.
The GM over at Red Bull Racing seems to think Vickers will bounce back shortly:
“All things are looking good at the moment; this is just a minor setback…We appreciate Casey filling in this weekend and know he will represent the team well.”
We wish him the best.
