the Kentucky Derby 2010 has a new winner and it is Super Saver, ridden by Jockey Calvin Borel, they become the indisputable champions at the Derby. Keep reading to know the rest of this story plus take a look at the photos and video below.
May 1st, 2010 will be a memorable date for Super Saver, Calvin Borel its jockey who has won the Derby three times (2007, 2009, 2010) and certainly to its trainer Todd Pletcher, who won his first Kentucky Derby after missing 24 entries. Last year he trained Bluegrasscat who finished second at the Kentucky Derby, Pletcher thought his dream of winning the Derby were shattered after Eskendereya was out of the list due to a swollen leg, but now Super Saver gave his trainer something to smile about; his other horses are Discreetly Mine(13th), Devil May Care(10th), Mission Impazible(9th).
Not even the rain that contributed in making the track very difficult could stop this jockey and his colt from winning ahead of Ice Box at the 1 1/4 mile track, with over 155, 804 spectators, and with the impressive time of 2:04:45 with a “margin of 2 1/2 lengths” and as the 8/1 favorite.
The positions of the others were:
2. Ice Box, 3. Paddy O’Prado, 4. Make Music for Me, 5. Noble’s Promise, 6. Lookin at Lucky, 7. Dublin, 8. Stately Victor, 9. Mission Impazible, 10. Devil May Care, 11. American Lion, 12. Jackson Bend, 13. Discreetly Mine, 14. Dean’s Kitten, 15. Conveyance, 16. Homeboykris, 17. Sidney’s Candy, 18. Line Of David, 19. Awesome Act, 20. Backtalk.
