We here at Right Fielders love to introduce you to the hot women of the sports world, and Milka Duno does not disappoint. There’s just something about women race car drivers, isn’t there?
As a biography, Milka Duno was born on April 22, 1972 in Caracas, Venezuela. Milka is quite the educated one, as she has a Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Maritime Business, Organizational Development, and Marine Biology. She is also a former model. She didn’t even start racing until she was 24 years old. She started her race car driving career in 1996, where she finished 2nd in the Venezuelan GT Championship. She placed 4th in the Venezuelan Porsche Supercup in 1998.
She made her move to the U.S. in 1999, where she attended racing schools and competed in the Barber Dodge Pro Series in 2000. She competed in the World Series by Nissan in 2001 and 2003.
In 2004, Milka was the first woman in history to win a major race in North America by winning at the Grand Prix of Miami. In 2005, she won her third Rolex Series.
She took second place in the 24 Hours of Daytona, which was the highest finish by a woman in the Daytona circuit. In 2007, she set her sights on the Indy 500 as well, and she was one of three women who competed in the race. Unfortunately, she crashed in lap 65 and finished 31st.
Watch Milka in the upcoming film, Speed Racer, due out for release in May 2008.
