While the nation suffers through Sarah’s endless pursuit of the public spotlight, from her recent spat with the President, to her new Discovery network show, we finally have something good that’s come of it! Tina Fey’s impersonations of the Thrilla from Wasilla earned her an Emmy last year, and now she’s done it again.
The sketch, which aired this weekend, was a classic flash back of the past year of Sarah Palin. Network coverage of the former VP candidate has been on the uptick in the past few months, providing all new fodder for Fey’s SNL sketch.
The new spot was designed as a spoof advertisement of a new channel for Palin to compete with Oprah’s new channel, OWN, that’s replacing the Discovery Health Channel. In the meat of the sketch she reels off a number of names of the shows that would be on the network, including “”Are You Smarter than a Half-Term Governor?” and a new TV Movie titled ” “My Daughter Only Sprained Her Ankle, You Can’t Seriously be Considering Euthanizing Her.”
She wasn’t only focusing on the past though, she would also air a new show called “Hey Journalist, I Gotcha” where she would “re-edit my interviews with journalists to make them look like they were the ones that were woefully unprepared.” Yes, a sample clip is included!
The night, also starring Justin Beiber was an instant hit for Comedy Central.
If you haven’t seen the sketch already, check out the video at the bottom of the page! What did you think of the “Sarah Palin Network” spoof? Another Emmy in the making for Tina Fey?
