Not known herself for unadventurous clothing choices, there is a desire for 13 year old Lourdes from momma Madonna: dress more conservatively! What could have brought this interesting request about? More details below, and see additional photos and a video.
The mother-daughter team has come together for a new juniors clothing line called “Material Girl.” The famous singer did an interview with US Weekly about the line and her thoughts on her young fashionista.
Apparently a new line wasn’t what the 51 year old was looking to do, but when her daughter was all about it and is actually handling a lot of the work, she couldn’t say no.
“I did a line for H&M, which I enjoyed, but it was a lot of work. I thought, I don’t want to give up the rest of my careers, so I’m not going to do my own line again. But I have a 13-year-old with tireless energy who wanted to do this. I’ve been involved in business meetings, but Lola’s really doing the work. I just sit in the corner on my BlackBerry!”
And an interesting desire came out during the chat with Madonna. “Dress more conservatively” was one thing she would hope her daughter would keep in mind, even if it’s not something she feels she can. Basically it sounded like Lourdes’ momma felt like she didn’t really have a good example to show, but was just hoping her daughter would make wise choices.
As for the line, it seems that it may be a hit. Some big designers like Stella McCartney or Marc Jacobs, even like to hear the youngin’s opinion on outfits for her mom’s photo shoots or videos.
Madonna said, “She also comes to my photo and video shoots, pulls outfits together and gives her input to a lot of my fashion-designer friends.”
She seems to get her inspiration from all different kinds of influences and interests, and all I’ve heard so far is that it will be great. I guess we can see for ourselves shortly, as the line is expected to debut in Macy’s in August.
What do you think about this new line and Madonna’s dress more conservatively desire for her daughter? Let me know, and check out more pictures and this video.
