Karl Rove: War Criminal Accusation

March 30, 2010

In an event to promote “Courage and Consequence: My Life As a Conservative in the Fight,” we instead saw the author being accused and the event disrupted. “Karl Rove, war criminal” was what the 100 people in attendance heard shouted, amongst other things. See more below including more photos and videos about the event.

This politician used to be Chief of Staff to President Bush, and has been constantly defending the war and actions related to it. People are always going to have something to say about this ideology, and Jodie Evans, co-founder of the group Code Pink, made sure this author heard her opinion. And she did it in style!

The video was recorded by CBS2 (see it here) and it shows the liberal coming up and making accusations at Karl Rove. War criminal, was the name of choice as she also showed handcuffs stating she was making a citizen’s arrest. Among the crowd, about 10 other protesters backed her up and spoke out against the author, saying he they are happy he would “rot in hell” and blamed him for lying and even “ruining the country”.

He did fight back trying to defend not only himself but to show, what he felt, was out of line behavior. Along with calling some of them “lunatics” and telling someone to “get the heck out of here,” he said,

“With all due respect, this goes to show the totalitarianism of the left. They don’t believe in dialogue, they don’t believe in the 1st Amendment rights for anyone but themselves.”

For those who paid $40 and actually wanted to hear the speech and get their book signed, may have left disappointed. Though organizers tried to get the event focused again, it was a fleeting effort and they decided to forego the actual signing.

What do you think of this turn of events? And would you agree with the Karl Rove, war criminal comparison? Let me know, and see these photos and video.
