Bobby Gonzalez

As you all know Bobby Gonzalez was recently fired from the men’s basketball team at Seton Hall in South Orange, New Jersey. But why was he fired? Coach Gonzalez is a great coach, but unfortunately his behavior is the reason for his departure, not just his behavior was disappointing for Seton, but some of the players too. They would made some serious fouls on court and be really disrespectful to teams off the court. As you might probably remember, Bobby’s behavior has already been the center of attention and judgment in the past, some think of his behavior as “street-fighter temperament.”

Here is the statement made by Seton Hall’s Dean Patrick Hobbs.

"Performance and success are not measured solely by wins and losses, but also in the conduct of those associated with the program," Hobbs said. We have expectations as to how our coaches and players will conduct themselves, and they are expected to treat everyone they interact with, whether officials, the press or our students, with the utmost respect, maturity and professionalism. Those core expectations must be met."

Coach Gonzalez was informed on March 17 about the university’s decision. President Monsignor Robert Sheeran informed Gonzalez.

"It is essential that all University leaders embody the ideals that make us all so proud of Seton Hall."

And we wonder who will replace him at Seton Hall? It was rumored that they didn’t have any confirmed prospects in mind, but Kevin Willard from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY came up.
