Have you heard the recent news about Mark Callaway A.K.A The Undertaker? Was he in an accident? Was it during a fight? Keep reading to know everything about this news and more, plus don’t forget to check out The Undertaker’s Burned photos and video below.
WWE’s Mark Callaway, also known as “The Undertaker”, had an unfortunate incident during his fight against Chris Jericho at the WWE Elimination Chamber at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri on February 21st, 2010. As usual the Elimination chamber was full of wild fans. He, who usually wears a hat and a long leather coat, made his entrance, but it didn’t go as expected, did it?
At the moment that he stepped inside and usually walking pretty slow, he was received by a warm welcome, way too warm. In fact he was received by a pyrotechnic dysfunction and was suddenly engulfed in flames. I’m not quite sure if the audience thought it was part of the show, we can check on the video below, I mean it has happened other times like when Owen Hart died on stage and fell down, the match continued and the audience thought it was part of the show.
Anyway, The Undertaker quickly took his jacket off, ran to the ring, he was later evaluated by the doctor at the event, and the results as well as comments about the incident were revealed by the WWE spokesperson Robert Zimmerman.
"It was a mistiming," Zimmerman said. "He threw his jacket down. It kind of singed is the best way to describe it." He also said that he just suffered a chest injury that looked like a bad sunburn and was cleared to wrestle by a ringside physician.
Nobody said anything about the pyrotechnic company that was hired by the WWE, only that they (WWE) will continue to investigate what caused the mishap.
"I haven’t spoken to anyone to find out what was the cause, if it was timing, if there was something wrong with whatever. We have to go back and investigate and make a final determination."
After The Undertaker was cleared to continue the fight, he ended up losing his title against Chris Jericho by the intervention of Shawn Michaels. After 35:38 minutes Michaels’ intervention was described as “A sweet chin Music”, but the next day he got his revenge when Shawn Michaels challenged him at WrestleMania. He once again defeated Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXV in 30:41 minutes. He caught Michael while he was performing a moonsault and subsequently received a Tombstone Piledriver and got pinned. You might think he was done with flames but at the moment they made their entrance and while Michaels entered the ring descending in a platform, he came ascending from the floor with “fire” shooting from the sky, Man! he sure wasn’t scared at all, but the best part is that he still remains undefeated at WrestleMania.
