More excitement this week for New Orleans Saint’s quarterback. The Superbowl MVP was honored with a lead role in New Orleans’ famous Mardi Gras parade this past Sunday, and none could have filled the role better! Coming off a Super Bowl win the previous weekend, Brees and the team had already enjoyed the a parade earlier in the week, but that didn’t quench and of the city’s avid Carnival fans. Early counts show that the turnout for this year’s parade was even larger than previous years!
Jennifer Leblanc, yearly parade attendee, said
“This is a mad house. This is the biggest crowd I’ve ever seen. And every one is having a great time.”
Drew Brees, Bacchus King of the Krewe was his title Sunday, which capped off an insanely busy week for the ever popular quarterback. After winning the NFL championship Sunday, Brees held a news conference that night and joined “Good Morning America” early the next morning, later Monday he stopped by Orlando for the Disney World Parade and appeared on Letterman in New York that night! Tuesday, he reunited with his team in New Orleans for the celebration parade that went well into the evening, Thursday he was on The Ellen Degeneres Show and Friday he was interviewed on Oprah! Whew!
After Mardi Gras Brees will take a well deserved break so we’ll have to ween ourselves off of the all star gunslinger, but not before we take the time to admire the all too fitting Drew Brees, Bacchus King.
