****UPDATE 2/26/10****
Congratulations once again to Maria Riesch, as she wins yet another gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics in the Women’s Slalom event. This is her second Gold of these Winter Games. Austria’s Marlies Schild came in second to win the silver and the Czech Republic’s Sarka Zahrobska came away with the bronze. Of her second gold medal win, Riesch said:

“I was happy with my first gold medal and the second one is just incredible. The course was tricky and the snow made it hard to see at times but we ski slalom in that kind of stuff all the time. It didn’t really affect me. When you get that close to a gold medal, maybe nothing affects you.”

****UPDATE 2/18*****
Congratulations to Maria Riesch on her Olympic Gold medal win in the Super-Combined. Unfortunately, Riesch’s gal pal, American Lindsey Vonn, got her ski entangled on a gate and ended up crashing.
