Alexandre Bilodeau: Canadian Freestyle Skier Wins Olympic Gold Medal (Photos, Video)

This young skier just won the gold at the men’s moguls event in Vancouver, and he e is actually the first Canadian to win gold for his home country. Do you think they will keep on winning?

This 22 year old Blondie was born on September 8, 1987 in Montreal, Canada. At the moment he lives in Rosemere, Quebec. Alexandre made his skiing debut at the 2005 FIS World Championships and at the 2005 Nor- Am Cup Contest, where he became the first freestyle skier to perform a double twist flip. In 2006 he won the gold at the World Cup in France and at Turin, Italy he finished in 11th place. He closed 2006 in 2nd place at the World Cup ranking.

In 2007 he competed at the World Cup ( 3rd place). At the World championship in Italy he finished 5th (dual moguls) and 14th (moguls). He placed 2nd at the Canadian Championships. In the 2008 World Cup he reached the podium a couple of times, and ranked 3rd in the World Cup Moguls rankings. At the 2009 FIS World Ski Championships in Japan he won the gold in dual moguls and landed 8th in moguls plus he won the moguls event in Sweden, Canada, Czech Republic and Salt Lake City.

At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Alexandre joined the Moguls team, he accomplished the feat of competing in one of the fastest races in the competition and won the first gold medal for Canada.

There is no doubt that he would indeed be a good fighter jet pilot, luckily for us he is a fabulous Canadian Freestyle Skier with a very promising career, with many gold medals waiting for him.
