In another blow to the Kerrigan family, autopsy findings revealed today that Daniel Kerrigan’s cause of death was…homicide. The family disagrees. Read more below, plus photos and video.
What a sad day for the Kerrigan family. Autopsy results on their patriarch, Daniel Kerrigan were made public today, and it was determined by the state medical examiner that homicide was the reason for his death.
Mr. Kerrigan died on January 24th following an argument with his son, Mark. A police report revealed:
“He stated that he wanted to use the phone and his father would not let him,” the arresting officer wrote in a report. “He said he struggled with his father and put his hands around his father’s neck and his father fell to the floor.”
The autopsy states that Mr. Kerrigan had died of “cardiac dysrhythmia” as a result of the neck injury he received. The family disputes these results and have released the following statement:
“The Kerrigan family is extremely disappointed that the medical examiner would release a cause of death without having all of the relevant facts. We believe this finding to be premature and inaccurate. The Kerrigan family does not blame anyone for the unfortunate death of Dan Kerrigan, who had a pre-existing heart condition.”
Mark Kerrigan was charged with a felony assault charge following the incident and plead not guilty to the charge. With this latest news, more than likely new charges will be brought against him. This is not Mark’s first brush with the law. In the past 20 years he has had several convictions – drunk driving, assault and battery and violating a restraining order are just some of the charges.
I feel so bad for the Kerrigan family. Autopsy results revealed today will probably add more charges against Mark Kerrigan. Sadly the family will have to endure more stress. What are your thoughts, readers? Leave me a comment plus check out more photos and a related video below.
