Former NFL defensive tackle, now analyst Warren Sapp got arrested on Saturday in Miami, it all happened when police arrived at the Shore Club Hotel after Warren’s girlfriend allegedly was attacked by him.

A police report said that she had some bruises and a swollen knee, she allegedly said that she stayed at his hotel room where he was staying because he was co hosting an event there on Saturday night and would be at the Super Bowl the next day, but then on Saturday morning she said he allegedly began arguing with her, got angry and subsequently attacked her.

While Warren said that she did stay in his room the night before but the next day he was expecting company so he told her to leave, but she fell down while he was helping her get on her way.

And she said that he allegedly grabbed her and began to choke her and threw her out of his room.

What really happened is still uncertain but what is for sure is that Mr. Sapp was doing the coverage for the NFL at the Super Bowl on Sunday, but due to this incident the NFL won’t count on Sapp anymore.

We have been made aware of the arrest of Warren Sapp by the Miami Beach Police Department, a network statement said. In light of these circumstances, Warren Sapp will not appear on NFL Network while we review the matter.

Warren Sapp was charged with domestic battery and was transferred to the Miami-Dade County Jail and has since been released.

A little bio about Warren Sapp.

  • Born  in Orlando, Florida on December 19, 1972.
  • Started plying football at Apoka High school, then at the Miami University.
  • In 1995 he was drafted by the Tampa Buccaneers.
  • In 1999 he was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
  • In 2002, champions at the XXXVII Super Bowl.
  • In 2004 he signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.
  • In 2005 he started the season with the Oakland Raiders.
  • In 2008 (March) he announced his retirement.
  • In 2008 (August) he was hired for the NFL show “Inside the NFL”.
  • In 2008 (September) he was paired with professional dancer Kym Johnson on Dancing with the Stars, Won the second place.

Warren Sapp’s arrest is really an unfortunate event, especially now with the Super Bowl underway.
