Ice Dancing is one of the most fascinating and beautiful competitions of the Winter Games, don’t you think? When you see Ice dancers performing those choreographed movements to gorgeous music… It’s like magic! I love to watch all the elegance and sophistication of ice skating. One of my favorites Ice Dancers: Meryl Davis and Charlie White, they are just amazing! But let me tell you a little about Meryl. I know, you can’t talk about her without mentioning her partner but I’m going to try it…

The 23 year-old Ice dancer, Meryl Davis was born in West Bloomfield, MI. on the first day of 1987. She’s the daughter of a retired teacher and a lawyer and has a young brother, Clayton – who loves snowboarding. She first got into skating when she was 5 year old. She is a student of cultural anthropology at the University of Michigan. The Olympic Ice dancer loves the color blue and pink, reading fantasy books, baking and all kinds of music.

Davis and her ice dancing partner Charlie White has had a successful skating career, they have been together for about 14 years and not only the judges see their magic, fans around the world too. Meryl and White are a sensation right now in youtube, thanks to their “Indian themed program” performed during the Rostlecom Cup last October. The couple received a bunch of letters from fans in India and South Asia. You can see the video below.

Meryl Davis and White won their second consecutive ice dance title at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships last month, on January 23, 2010. So, if there’s any doubt, Meryl and Charlie will thrill the crowd at the Winter Games in Vancouver.
