UFC 110 Fight Card – The event features heavyweights Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Cain Velasquez, and will take place at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. Read more below.
Wow! Is it just me or does it seem like way too many UFC events are popping up? Considering that UFC 109 and UFC 110 are just 14 days apart, it couldn’t be just me, could it? What bothers me about it though is that, in my opinion, the recent fight cards just keep getting weaker (with the exception of UFC 107). I’m not talking about the contender’s physical strength of course, but rather the appeal of the match-ups.
Although I’m not sure exactly how much an Ultimate Fighting Championship event costs to watch on Pay-Per-View, because I typically watch them for free at sports bars, I would expect that the price range is between $30 – $50 dollars. Am I right? And to be perfectly blunt, I don’t know if I would watch UFC 110 if it aired for free on Spike TV. In my opinion, there just aren’t enough intriguing bouts on the card. Lets take a looksy, shall we?
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Cain Velasquez
Michael Bisping vs. Wanderlei Silva
George Sotiropoulos vs. Joe Stevenson
Ryan Bader vs. Keith Jardine
Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Ben Rothwell
Chris Haseman vs. Elvis Sinosic
Stephan Bonnar vs. Krzysztof Soszynski*
C.B. Dollaway vs. Goran Reljic*
Chris Lytle vs. TBA*
James Te Huna vs. Igor Pokrajac*
In all fairness, I must say that this is the second-quickest sellout in the organizations history. But I think that is more due to the fact that this is also the organizations first event held in Australia. In fact, tickets sold out before even “a single fight on the card” was confirmed. Does that prove my point?
