UFC 109 Fight Card – Randy Couture and Mark Coleman headline the upcoming event, which will take place at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. For those of us not fortunate enough to be in Sin City on February 6, all of the action can be watched live via Pay-Per-View. Learn more about UFC 109, plus view the entire fight card below.
Couture vs. Coleman was originally supposed to go down in the early days of the Ultimate Fighting Championship at UFC 17. Due to Couture suffering from bruised ribs that he had received while preparing for the 1998 Greco-Roman wrestling Nationals, Coleman went against substitute Pete Williams. Just under 13 minutes into the clash, Williams knocked out the now UFC hall of famer with a swift kick to the head.
And the two hall of fame wrestlers never got another chance to fight, or at least until now, of course. I have the two year older Couture as the victor. Who do you have to win?
To be honest this is the first Ultimate Championship Fighting event in a while that I’m not too thrilled about. Perhaps if the rumored Renzo Gracie and Matt Hughes fight would have been added to the card I’d be more interested. Or if Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort were still going head to head at the early February event, but their not. So I feel like this one should be a SPIKE Television freebee, don’t you?
