Tiger Woods’ car accident early this morning has left the golf great injured and hospitalized in serious condition. Read more about this developing story below.
Early this morning, at 2:25 AM to be exact, Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a single vehicle car accident near his home outside Orlando, Florida.
Woods had just left his home located in the Isleworth community when he apparently struck a fire hydrant and then hit a tree at a neighbor’s home.. The airbags in Woods’ Cadillac Escalade were not deployed as he reportedly was traveling less than 33 miles per hour. Woods, 33, was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida. There are no other details regarding Woods’ condition at this time, only that he was seriously injured, although Sky News is reporting that Woods only suffered minor cuts to his face and was subsequently released. Let’s hope that the latter is true and he will make a speedy recovery.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, they are investigating the accident, and charges are pending (reckless driving perhaps?), but alcohol is reportedly not a factor.
Woods had revealed on his website on Wednesday that he was looking forward to competing at the Chevron World Challenge December 1st through 6th at Sherwood Country Club. He had won the event in 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2007, but did not compete last year due to his recovery from knee surgery. He said:
“It should be an exciting week for the fans and I’m looking forward to competing.”
It’s been a rough week for Woods. Earlier this week, news of an alleged affair surfaced…of course by none other than the National Enquirer so let’s be wary of that source. Never saw any proof in pictures over at the Enquirer….so whatever. Hopefully he did only suffer minor injuries and can in fact compete at the Chevron World Challenge.
