Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz is set to go down in less than a month at UFC 106, which will be held at the Mandalya Bay Event Center in Las Vegas. This is round two for these gentlemen. Wow! Since the fight card was released UFC 106 has undergone some major changes. Initially it was supposed to be Mark “The Hammer” Coleman verses Ortiz, but after Coleman suffered an injury, Griffin, like a true warrior didn’t hesitate to step up. Also the original main event was scheduled as Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin, but after the former WWE wrestler was also injured, that fight was canceled.
So here are the stats for Tito Ortiz:
He is 34-years-old and has a relatively respectable record of (16-6-1). He hasn’t fought in over a year, and was defeated by Lyota Machida the last time he did.
As for the UFC’s former poster boy Forrest Griffin:
He is 30-years-old and holds a record of (16-6). He is also coming of off a loss, and funny enough it was to Machida’s friend and training partner Anderson “The Spider” Silva.
Both of these guys are tough, all out brawlers, and former champs. So hopefully unlike UFC 104’s main event this should be a tremendous fight!
Two other notable matchups include:
Antonio Rogerio “Minotoro” Nogueira vs. Luis Cane
Dustin Hazelett vs. Karo Parisyan
