Have you heard about J.C. France’s DUI arrest? That’s right, the grandson of the originator of NASCAR, Bill France has been charged with possession and driving under the influence. Get the rest of the scoop here.
How much did it cost J.C. France to be a free man this evening? Drum roll please…and the answer is, just a little less than five grand. His constant swerving was a dead give away to officers that France was lacking in the sobriety department, and then when he ran a stoplight, well, that was just the icing on the cake. It turns out that race car driver # 59, who was at the wheel of a 2007 lambo, was in a race against his half-brother, Russell Van Richmond, who was driving a Porsche when the authorities nabbed the two.
In the Porsche police found what after tests appears to be cocaine. According to reports, Richmond was not too pleased about the situation either, he barked at law enforcement:
“No, this is a mistake for you. I’m a France, we own this city.”
He then went on to yell at a police man, telling the officer that his job “is over,” and that this was “the biggest mistake ever.”
Richmond’s bond, set at $10,500, was more than double that of his half-brothers. Just because the two are free tonight doesn’t mean there won’t be any repercussions for the men, whom I must say seem to think extremely highly of themselves. Recently revealed in a statement by a NASCAR spokesperson, J.C. has already been “suspended from all competition.” As for the other half of the duo, I’m sure we will find out his punishment soon enough.
