Ever since the scandal surrounding the reality show became a main focus of newspapers, gossip columns, blogs, and tabloids everywhere, Jon has been wanting to get out of his contract with TLC, and it looks as if his wish may finally get granted soon.

The name has been reduced to 3/5 of what it once was, as it will now be known as simply “Kate Plus 8”. When it starts back up in November, the series will focus on Kate handling the stresses of being a single mother for the first time, and the former patriarch of the family will only be making appearances occasionally.

Network president Eileen O’Neill commented about the changes the program is facing, saying in a recent statement that:

“Given the recent changes in the family dynamics, it only makes sense for us to refresh and recalibrate the program to keep pace with the family.”

She then went on to explain that the “family has evolved” and that they are trying to “evolve with it”.

A tipster told E! News that Jon wants to distance himself as much as he possibly can from the network that he believes took advantage of him and his family. Still under contractual obligation, he is required to do interviews and such for TLC with his most recent being last weekend, but according to E’s inside source he hopes that it will be his last.

I will definately watch. I think it will be a better show without him and so will Kate.

I definitely will not watch the show. The show is boring and Kate is obnoxious. Jon and the kids made the show.

I will not watch the show. It was a good show at one time, Kate ruined it. Jon took a lot of abuse from her, don’t blame him for leaving.

I won’t watch the show. Without Jon it is just sad. People forget how demeaning Kate was to Jon during their YEARS on the show and I can’t stand to watch her profit from exploiting her children. Way to go, Jon for opting out of the circus.

I won’t watch. If they’d do a show about the CHILDREN and leave both parents out of it, maybe they’d get me back as a viewer. But I’m sick of Kate and her never-ending quest for freebies, her control issues, her bad grammar, and her bad acting when it comes to genuinely caring about the welfare of her brood. TLC, it’s time to end this now while the kids might still have a chance at regaining normalcy in their lives.

I do agree that she was hateful sometimes but I also thought that Jon was and is a big boy. He should have come to his sinses a LONG time ago. He just needs to put on his big girl panties and deal with it and out those stupid earrings, one is fine but not two. If he were a girl I could see two in the ears but he not.

What a shame, to see this family fall apart in front of our own eyes. The kids how sad. Jon needs to pull himself together and Katie needs to quit whinnying oh poor me. They stopped being your everyday family when they went on TLC She is not your everyday mom. She has plenty of perks and help with the children.
They need to go away, I will not watch the show any longer, because its not about the kids
