Last night’s heavyweight boxing match on HBO “Vitali Klitschko vs Cris Arreola” ended up being an extremely one-sided fight in favor of Klitschko. Learn more about how the fight went down here.
Much like Floyd Mayweather Jr. did last week to his opponent, Vitali Klitschko put on a clinic last night for Cris Arreola. Fans of the sport expected to see an all out brawl, in which Arreola would come out fiercely swinging for his chance at the heavyweight title. Instead they got a relatively boring bout.
Commenting on the snooze fest the champ said that he “understands” that:
“Everyone wants a bloody fight to enjoy. Everyone wants someone to go to the floor.”
After enduring a grueling 10 rounds, referee Jon Schorle ended up saving Arreola from his own gallantry. The fun and games were over and things were on the verge of becoming dangerous when the ref called the fight. It was certainly the correct decision, and to put it bluntly its unlikely that Arreola even warranted sharing a round.
38-years-of-age is just another number for Klitschko who looked like he was 25, while toying with Americas top prospect for that weight division. Another thing that was apparent is that Arreola underestimated the champ’s abilities. Maybe next time, if there even is one, he will train harder and come into the ring better prepared.
