Today is an exciting day for many music fans because the 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been announced. Find out which of your favorite bands made the coveted list here.
Now that the list of the 12 nominees has been revealed, the annual chatter about who should and shouldn’t be let into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame begins. The nominees include: The Stooges (should of happened a while ago), Kiss (Same thing goes for them), ABBA (good chance), Genesis (eh), Donna Summer (maybe?), Red Hot Chili Peppers (Probably only made it this go round for the hall to maintain relevance) and LL Cool J (Shoe in).
The complete list of candidates to be inducted next spring looks something like this:
Red Hot Chili Peppers
LL Cool J
Just in case you didn’t catch it, last year’s ceremony included the following inductees:
Jeff Beck, Run-D.M.C., Wanda Jackson, Bobby Womack, Bill Black, Metallica, and DJ Fontana and Spooner Oldham.
A judge’s panel will decide on who’s in and who’s out of the ceremony, which is scheduled for March 15. Also, a 25th anniversary concert that will feature the bands Metallica, U2, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and Simon & Garfunkel will be celebrated on Oct. 29-30.
