Plaxico Burress

For the majority of football fans and ESPN watchers most of this is probably already old news by now as Plaxico Burress has been facing these charges for a while, but to establish new news we must reiterate the old, so here we go.

It wasn’t all that long ago that he was celebrating his Super Bowl XLII game-winning TD, which sealed the victory as the Giants went on to beat the Patriots in what may have been one of the greatest upsets of all-time.

Now the former NFL player has found himself facing two years in prison at NY’s Fishkill Correctional Facility for a nightclub shooting back in August, in which, get this, he shot himself.

We have good and bad news for the receiver. The good is that he will most likely be presented with the opportunity to hone his ‘catching’ skills while in the big house, the bad is that it’s probably not in the way he would like to, if you get my drift.

And if you don’t, please refrain from asking.

Reports indicate that he will take a page out of Michael Vick’s book, and attempt to resume his NFL career when he is released.
