Karina Smirnoff’s ‘I’d rather dance naked than wear fur’ PETA ad is hot hot hot. The Dancing With the Stars pro wants everyone to know that wearing fur is NOT sexy.
Karina Smirnoff does admit to formerly wearing fur in her native Ukraine, but upon learning how those animals were killed for their skins, she immediately stopped wearing them.
It was while watching a video of baby seals being killed that cinched her decision to no longer wear fur.
She told PETA, “I did wear fur, especially when I was little. But there are ways of being warm and being fashionable without being cruel.”
According to PETA, millions of animals are killed for their fur, and surprisingly even cats and dogs as well. Sadly, some animals are skinned alive. Karina went on to say:
“You have a choice as an individual, you have a choice in the press, in the world, whether to make a statement that you do support killing animals or make a statement when you don’t. And you can still be as chic as you can possibly want to be.”
Other celebs who have partnered with PETA’s anti-fur ad campaigns include Khloe Kardashian, Eva Mendes, Pamela Anderson and Charlize Theron.
Famed celebrity photographer Robert Sebree shot the ad and I think it’s one of their sexiest to date. Would you agree? Eat your heart out, Maks…
Meanwhile, you can catch Karina and her partner, Aaron Carter, on DWTS, which premiered Monday night. They wowed the judges with their Cha Cha and are considered one of the frontrunners. Could this be the year she brings home the coveted disco ball trophy?
