Pro racer Melanie Troxel came out to compete at the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge this past weekend. The event was held at the zMax Drag way. Troxel wrapped up the day after making a round in 5.986 at 240.81mph. She has now advanced to the finals!




As a biography Melanie Troxel was born in 1972 on August 31st. She is a resident of Indianapolis. Troxel carries a record of five wins with eleven runner up finishes. She is married to Tommy Johnson Junior. Born in Colorado, Troxel is the daughter of Mike Troxel, a World Champion Funny Car Racer.

Melanie’s fist drag race was at the age of sixteen years old. In 1997 Troxel turned professional and has since collected several Top Fuel victories.

Troxel’s awards include the 2006 First Driver of the Year, the Kara Hendrick Spirit award, a two time nominee of the ESPN ESPY award for both Driver of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year.

In 2008 Melanie Troxel shifted her focus to Funny Car racing. Shortly thereafter Troxel was recognized for being the first female in NHRA history to compete in both the Top Fuel and Funny Car racing.
