This Saturday at the US Open Serena Williams gave quite a show with a foot fault and then an outburst while competing against Kim Clijsters. Williams, who also smashed her racket against the ground, will now have to pay $10,000.00 in fines following her temper tantrum on the court and under go an investigation. According to Grand Slam officials they will “determine if the behavior of Ms. Williams warrants consideration as a Major Offence for which additional penalties can be imposed.” Williams also threatened to stuff the ball down the Line Judge’s throat!

Now back to Tennis pro Serena Williams’ Foot Fault and Outburst at the Line Judge during the U.S. Open with Video……….
After the match when asked about the incident during the semi finals, Serena Williams did discuss the foot fault and outburst by stating:
On “(Saturday) night, everyone could truly see the passion I have for my job,” Serena Williams said in a statement. “Now that I have had time to gain my composure, I can see that while I don’t agree with the unfair line call, in the heat of battle I let my passion and emotion get the better of me and as a result handled the situation poorly.”
Williams is scheduled to continue in the tournament with plans to play doubles with her sister Venus. Check out her reaction to the Line Judge’s call below.

Its obvious…the woman accused Serena of saying that she was going to kill her.
Hmm…very typical.
The game must have been either rigged or the woman must just have personal “issues” and a nasty attitude.
I’m sure Serena deals with women like her and the guy all that time, and maybe got a bit fed up with it.
Shes kept her cool, because if it were me I might have said some choice words to the woman accusing me of things I did NOT say.

serena really was out of control and behaved crazy. everyday and in every sport there are wrong calls. we need to take it in our stride. she came across as a very poor loser by taking out her frustration on the referee. guess this episode is a black chapter for tennis….

Really, it was irrelvant what she said , it was her shaking the racquet in a threatning manner and walking toward the lineswoman along with previous sportsmanship warnings that led to the penalty. She was already beat anyway, I would like to she her suspended for a year as this has become a trend with her in recent matches. Several foot faults and glares and now this..is it “roid rage’???

Serena is out of control, and is obviously not able to channel aggression to benefit her game (like McEnroe used to do). Having said that, the foot fault call looks to be a horrible call; even if it turns out to be accurate it was an irrelevant call on an immaterial breach.
