Peruvian surfer Sofia Mulanovich Aljovin is a South American to be inducted in the Surfing Hall of Fame. She is the first South American to do so.
As a biography Sofia Mulanovich Aljovin is a professional Peruvian surfer who was born on June 24, 1983 in Lima, Peru. Aljovin is currently sponsored by Roxy.
At the start of her career in 1999 Sofia became the Peruvian National Champion as well as in 2000-2002. The following year she was voted the Best Upcoming Surfer by Surfer Magazine and ranked No. 2 on the WQS Tour.
Since then Aljovin has gone on to compete in dozen events from the 2002 World Qualifying series, the 2003 World Champion Tour, the 2004 Roxy Pro to the 2005 Billabong Pro.
Sofia has also attended the 2006 US Open and the 2009 Copa Movistar where she placed first. On top of the dozens of tournaments through out her career Sofia has also been inducted into the Surfing Hall of Fame and is a three time World Champion.
