Elisa Cusma Piccione recently ran in the Van Damme Memorial at King Baudouin Stadium. The Italian runner placed 4th in the 800 metre event with a time of 1:59.75.

Up next Elisa will be competing in the the IAAF / VTB Bank World Athletics Final which takes place in Thessaloniki, Greece, on September 12 and 13th.

As a biography Elisa Cusma Piccione is a professional Italian middle distance runner who was born on July 24, 1981 in Bologna, Italy. Cusma Piccione specializes in the 800 metre event.

In 2007 Elisa competed in the World Athletics Final, where she placed seventh as well as the World Championships and the European Championships.

In 2008 Elisa attended the Olympic Games but failed to reach the final round. In the same year she competed at the World Athletics Final. By 2009 the Italian runner scored her first bronze medal while competing at the European Indoor Championships. She placed sixth.

To date Elisa Cusma Piccione’s best time is 1:58.63, achieved back in 2007 while at the World Championships.
