With Lorena Ochoa’s win at the ADT Championship, this gives her her eighth title of the year thus far, and is the first player in LPGA history to win over $4 million in a season.
Lorena didn’t win this one quite easily. With two holes left to play, Lorena had a four shot lead. The 17th turned out to be a nightmare for her, as a normally par-3 hole left her with a double bogey. Her playing partner, Natalie Gulbis, made a birdie putt, and was now only behind by one shot.
Lorena would birdie at the 18th hole, which gave her a 4-under 68 and a two shot victory over Natalie Gulbis.
The $1 million prize holds special meaning for her, as she said that she would give $100,000 to a relief fund for flood victims in Tabasco, Mexico.
