Congratulations to Susan Haskell for taking home the title of “Outstanding Lead Actress” at the 2009 Daytime Emmy’s. After receiving the award she gave a heart-felt speech, while trying to hold back tears as she recognized “One Life to Live” for what she calls “giving her everything”. This certainly comes as the crowning moment for Haskell in her 17-year career.

Have you ever wondered how she keeps so fit? Well, she attributes her tremendous physique to exercise saying that:

“To me, exercise is so important, because I love to eat, and as long as I exercise I can eat whatever I want”.

Susan Haskell Biography

She was born in Canada, in Toronto, Ontario. She is best known for her role as Dr. Margaret “Marty” Saybrooke on the ABC soap opera “One Life to Live”. She received a degree in child studies in 1985 from Tufts University. In 2001 she portrayed Granya Thornhart on Port Charles, appearing alongside Thorsten Kaye, who is the father of her two children, daughters McKenna and Marlowe.

She has won two Daytime Emmy Awards, once in 1994 for Outstanding Supporting Actress and again in 2009 for Outstanding Lead Actress. Susan Haskell has made appearances on four television shows over the course of her career: One Life to Live, Port Charles, Jag (Lt. Cmdr. Jordan Parker), and The Good Shepherd.
