Mekana Denai Barnes Biography

As a biography Mekana Denai Barnes is a Professional American Volleyball Player who was born on October 29, 1986 in Pasadena, California. Barnes is a graduate from both the Thunder Ridge High School and Colorado State.

Currently a resident of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Barnes currently serves as a middle blocker on the US National Team. Since her high school years Mekana has excelled in not only volleyball but basketball and track and field as well.

In 2003 and 2004 Barnes was named All State and qualified for the USA Junior Olympic Girls Volleyball Championships. While at Colorado State Barnes continued to pursue volleyball. In her freshman year she managed to make more that 100 blocks in her first season.

In 2007 Mekana was named AVSA All American. In her senior year Barnes was named All Mountain West Conference.
