Professional retired American swimmer Kaitlin Sandeno was recently in the news after taking time to meet with young swimming hopefuls at the Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center. The Olympic medalist spent the day answering questions and giving tips to aspiring youth interested in swimming. Learn more about Kaitlin Sandeno after the jump.
As a biography Kaitlin Sandeno is a Professional American Swimmer who was born on March 13, 1983 in Mission Viejo, California. Sandeno was coached in her youth by Vic and Renee Riggs while swimming with the Nellie Gail Saddleback gators.
In 2000 Kaitlin Sandeno attended the Summer Olympics. She competed in the 800 metre freestyle event taking home a bronze medal. Sandeno also competed in both the 400m event and the 200m butterfly event. One year later she competed in the US National Championship. She successfully placed first in three events, the 200m butterfly, the 200m Individual Medley and the 400m Individual medley.
In the years to follow Sandeno attended the 2004 Summer Olympics where she took home three medals, a silver, bronze and gold. Unfortunately Kaitlin did not qualify for the 2008 US Olympic Team four years later and announced her retirement shortly after.
Kaitlin Sandeno is currently pursuing a career in sports broadcasting.
