Professional Track and Field athlete Chandra Sturrup is currently competing in the IAAF World Athletic Championships. This past Sunday Sturrup made it into the semi-finals after running 11.12 in the 100 metre event.
As a biography Chandra Sturrup is a Professional Bahamian Track and Field athlete who was born on September 12, 1971. Sturrupâ€™s forte is the 100 metre dash in which she currently holds the national record with a time of 10.84 seconds.
Since 1996 Chandra Sturrup has competed in over a dozen events where she has taken home several bronze, silver and gold medals. Sturrup has competed in the 1996 Olympic Games, the 1997 World Indoor Championships in Athletics and the 1998 Commonwealth Games.
In 2000 she attended the Olympic Games placing sixth. One year later Chandra competed in the World Indoor Championships where she took home both a bronze medal in the 100 metre event and a gold medal in the 60 metre event.
Sturrupâ€™s other career accomplishments to date are the 2005 Worlds and the 2008 Summer Olympics.
