Professional sprinter and Virgin Islands native LaVerne Jones Ferrette is getting ready to compete at the World Championships. Just recently Jones Ferrette attended the Grande Premio Brasil Caixa and came in with a time of 11.18 in the 100 metre event! Read LaVerne’s career highlights after the jump.
As a biography LaVerne Jones Ferrette is a professional American sprinter who was born on Septemeber 16, 1981 in the US Virgin Islands. Jones Ferrette is usually seen competing in the 100 and 200 metre events.
In 2005 LaVerne competed in the Universiade in Turkey, she placed seventh in the 200 metre. One year later she attended the Central American and Caribbean Games to compete in the 100 metre event. Jones Ferrette came in at second place.
Jones Ferrette has since competed in the 2007 Pan American Games, the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2009 Grande Premio Brasil Caixa this past May. To date LaVerne’s personal best has been recorded at 11.18 in the 100 metre and 22.49 in the 200 metre event.
