Minnesota Lynx guard Renee Montgomery is in the news. She has been chosen as one of the top ten finalist for the Women’s Sports Foundation Sportswoman of the Year award. Montgomery is a West Virginia native who stands at 5’7″. Find out more about the Minnesota Lynx guard after the jump.

Renee Montgomery Biography

As a biography Renee Montgomery is an American basketball player who currently plays as a guard for the Minnesota Lynx. She was born on December 2, 1986 in West Virginia. Montgomery is a graduate from South Charleston High School. While there Renee was captain of the basketball team and competed in the West Virginia state Championships three times before being accepted to the University of Connecticut.

During her college career Montgomery was named 2006 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, a finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Award and attended her first National Championship.

At the 2009 WNBA Draft Renee Montgomery was chosen by the Minnesota Lynx.
