Lewis said he took an over the counter supplement towards the end of last season that contained a substance that is banned by the NBA.

He claims he was unaware that the substance was banned. The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the supplement contained DHEA. He released a statement regarding the suspension and said:

“First and foremost I take full responsibility for the situation and accept the corresponding penalty. I apologize to Magic fans, my teammates and this organization for not doing the research that should come with good judgment.’’

He will not play in the first 10 regular season games and his pay will be reduced $1.6 million of his $18 million salary for the 2009-2010 season. He could be eligible to play on November 16th, a home game against the Charlotte Bobcats.
