Adam Vinatieri Misses Winning Field Goal

With about 1.5 Minutes left in the Game, Adam Vinatieri missed a 29-yard field goal that would have put the Colts ahead in a game. This important Field Goal would have given the Colts a 1 point lead over the San Diego Chargers.

Manning, who had set a Colts franchise record with his six interceptions, had pushed the Colts to the Chargers 12. Adam Vinatieri had won two Super Bowls for New England with last second kicks, in this game against the San Diego Chargers he pushed his kick just wide right- and missed.

If Vinatieri’s kick would have gone through, it would have been the 29th time that Manning had driven the Colts from a 4th quarter deficit or tie to win..
