Irina Konstantinovna Rodnina Is Professional Figure Skater who is a three time Olympic old medalist. Now a coach, Rodnina is one of the most successful figure skaters in history. Read Irina’s career highlights after the jump.

Irina Konstantinovna Rodnina Biography

As a biography Irina Konstantinovna Rodnina is a former professional figure skater who was born on September 12, 1949 in Moscow, Russia. Rodnina is a graduate from the Central Institute of Physical Culture. She has been skating since her childhood when she attendee the Children and Youth Sports School in CSKA.

Irina is three time gold medalist who has partnered with Alexel Ulanov and Alexander Zaitsev.

During the course of her figure skating career Rodnina managed to secure eleven European Pairs Championships, ten World Championships and both the Order of the Red Banner of Labour award and the Order of Lenin. In 1988 Irina was inducted into the Hall of Fame for International Women’s Sports.

Since retiring form figure skating in 1980 Rodnina has been coaching. She is also married to skating partner Aleksandr Zaytsev.
