John Kuester coach for the Detroit Pistons? It seems that the negotiations are almost over and the position is filled. Read more and check out video here.

It seems that the deal is almost sealed for John Kuester to coach for the Detroit Pistons. On Tuesday evening the Pistons and Kuester were near an agreement.

A source leaked the info to the AP, but opted for anonymity because it hadn’t been solidified yet. A contract is expected at any time.

John Kuester has spent the past two seasons as a Cleveland Cavaliers assistant. He was also an NBA assistant in Orlando, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Boston. TNT analyst Doug Collins wrote in a text message to the AP.

“Nice man, don’t know much about him as a coach. Really quality guy/gentleman.”

Detroit was also reportedly considering bringing back Collins, a former Pistons coach. However, he withdrew his name from consideration last week.
