Anna Smashnova Biography

As a biography, Anna Smashnova is a retired professional tennis player who was born on July 16, 1976 in Belarus. She is a graduate of American International High School. Smashnova’s career high ranking placed her at World No.15 back in 2003. Smashnova retired back in 2007.

Anna began playing when she was only six years old and joined junior rank at the age of ten. She won the Soviet Union Championship Cup four years later and the girls singles title at the French Open in 1991. Three years later she went pro.

Smashnova has competed in the 1994 French Open, the 1994 US Open, the 1996 Australian Open, the Canberra Classic and many more. Anna has defeated Jana Novotna, Lori McNeil, Justine Henin, Kim Clijsters and Jelena Dokic.
