Magdalena Maleeva was raised to play tennis. Alongside her two other sisters, the former Bulgarian professional tennis player was trained by her mother. Find out more on Magdalena after the jump.

Magdalena Maleeva Biography

As a biography, Magdalena Maleeva is a tennis player from Bulgaria who was born on the 1st of April, 1975, so her age is 34. Maleeva went pro in 1989 an attended her first professional tournament, ITF, making it to the finals. In 1990 she competed at the French Open and successfully made it through to the event’s third round.

In the years to come, Maleeva competed in the French Open, the US Open, the Australian Open and Wimbledon. In all the events Magdalena made it through to the third round. Maleeva also won tournaments in Oakland, Moscow and Chicago before taking a break due to a shoulder injury.

In the remainder of Magdalena’s tennis career she won the Kremlin Cup and attended the Olympic games three times. She currently lives in Sofia, Bulgaria raising her family and is actively involved in environmental issues.
