Nick Montana makes headlines today as the son of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Joe Montana has committed to the University of Washington. According to Scout.com, the youngster is ranked the #13 quarterback in the country. He fielded offers from schools such as Notre Dame (where his father attended), Ohio State, Stanford, Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana State, just to name a few. The younger Montana originally wanted to take the whole summer to make his decision, but after his visit to the University of Washington with his parents last week, “it made everything a lot easier. It cleared everything up.”
Nick will sign a letter of intent in February.
As a biography, Nick Montana was born on April 28, 1992 so his age is 17. He stands 6-1 and weighs 180 pounds. He attended Cardinal-Newman High School in Santa Rosa, California and later transferred to Oaks Christian High School as a junior. He started in all 14 games and although he played in the second half for most of the games, he threw for over 2,500 yards. The Lions were unbeaten and won the CIF-SS Northwest Division title in 2008.
