Jameer Nelson, Orlando Magic point guard, will supposedly play in the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. Nelson, who suffered a shoulder injury on February 2nd that required surgery and six months of rehab, is itching to don the Magic uniform and get some minutes against the Lakers.
Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel reported:
“Orlando Magic point guard Jameer Nelson looks to be closer to playing in the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers as observers said he was flying down the floor, running with the second team in Tuesday’s practice.”
Magic Coach Stan Van Gundy is still undecided if he will let Nelson play in Game 1, which is scheduled for Thursday night in L.A., or in the series at all, for that matter.
Teammate Anthony Johnson thinks otherwise.
“I’m pretty sure he’s going to be given the benefit of the doubt. I expect him to be out there sometime during the series. You got to play the guys who give you the best chance to win.”
