A retired professional pole vaulter Stacy Dragila currently serves as an assistant coach for the Idaho State’s track and field team. Dragila is not only a gold medalist but a two-time world champion. Read more on Stacy Dragila below and see photos of her here.
As a biography Stacy Dragila, full name Stacy Renée Mikaelsen, is 38 years of age and hails from California. She attended the Placer High School where she excelled in track and volleyball. Dragila’s initial passion was gymnastics until asthma made her quit the sport.
After graduating from high school, Stacy moved on to Yuba College before accepting a full scholarship at Idaho State University to perfect her skills as a heptathlete. Dragila majored in Physical Education and Health.
In 2000 Stacy made it to the Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal, with the help of her coach Dave Nielsen. Unfortunately she did not make it to the 2004 Summer Olympics because she failed to qualify.
She currently lives in Idaho and works for Idaho State as the assistant coach for the track team. Stacy Dragila is married to Brent Dragila.
