Alexa Glatch Biography

As a biography, Alexa Glatch was born on September 10, 1989 in Newport Beach, California, so her age is 19. Her parents are Trey and Lisa Glatch, and she has one sibling, brother Tyler. She stands 6 feet tall and weighs 150 pounds.

Alexa’s first foray into the tennis world came at the young age of five. She won the Easter Bowl title while playing as a junior (Girls 14s and Girls 18s) and also won the International Orange Bowl title in 2004 (Girls 16s).

In 2005, Alexa’s World Junior Ranking soared to #5, and in that same year she reached the US Open Juniors finals in the singles and doubles events. She also turned professional that same year and made it to the semifinals of the Forest Hills Tennis Classic and reached the second round of the US Open. In November of 2005, she sustained a broken right wrist and left elbow injuries from an accident that left her unable to compete for eight months.

2007 was a better year for Alexa, as she was the Southlake $25,000 USTA Pro Circuit winner. She reached the finals at the French Open with her Junior Doubles partner, Sorana Cirstea of Romania.

In 2008, we saw Glatch make it to the quarterfinals of the Dothan $75,000 USTA Pro Circuit event, reach the finals of the Carson $50,000 event and at the Toronto and Saguenay $50,000 events she was hailed the singles winner.

Just last April, Glatch debuted at the Fed Cup in the semifinals against the Czech Republic. She impressively won her singles and doubles matches, thus giving the U.S. a chance to win the Fed Cup, a feat that has not been accomplished since 2000. Her win against Flavia Pennetta on Monday at the French Open is by far her biggest win to date.
