The 2009 Kentucky Derby will take place today going into it’s 135th year. The race, also called as the ‘Most Exciting Two-Minutes in the Sports’, will be more exciting than ever.
There will be some disappointed as the hot-favourite colt I Want Revenge is now out of the run, due to an ankle injury.
“When the word came out that running could hurt the horse, I looked at both doctors and said, ‘Then this is no debate,’” owner David Lanzman said. “‘What are we talking about? We’ll fight another day.’”
The top contenders now remaining are Dunkirk and Friesan Fire.
