Meet Tony Allen, an American professional basketball player who plays as a guard for the Boston Celtics. See photos, video and a biography of Tony Allen here.
Tony Allen’s security has been beefed up after the guard received death threats from a Chicago man. Apparently, the man has been receiving threats for quite a some time. He was playing for the Celtics in their game against the Chicago Bulls at United Center and the security around the Celtics bench was unusually high.
“Is that what you’re going to write about? Is that what you’re going to write about?” Allen said when asked about the threats, then walked away, the Globe reported.
“It’s a private team matter,” Celtics president Rich Gotham told Yahoo! Sports. “It’s just not something that we are going to talk about.”
The NBA officials have declined to comment on the matter.
As a biography, Tony Allen was born on January 11, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois so his age is 27. He attended Crane High School and then went to Oklahoma State University. He was a basketball standout and his transfer to the university was called the national junior-college transfer of the year. Allen was also named the Big 12 Player of the Year.
Tony was selected by the Boston Celtics as the 25th overall pick of the 2004 NBA Draft. He played in the Got Milk? Rookie Challenge alongside Al Jefferson. Allen missed most of his next season due to injury and being charged with battery. He averaged 11.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.48 steals in the 2007 season.
Allen was re-signed by the Celtics in July last year, for a $5m two-year contract. He enjoys a good image of doing charity work with the team.
