Danica Patrick was born March 25, 1982 in Beloit, Wisconsin. She began go-carting in 1992 at Sugar River Raceway in Wisconsin and moved to England at age 16 to advance her racing career.
Danica Patrick started fourth in the Indy 500, 2005 driving for Rahal Letterman Racing. After surviving numerous problems in the race, Danica the rookie ended up leading the race at the end and almost won! She finished in fourth place. It was a very exciting Indianapolis 500 and people mentioned it was the best in decades.
In 2006, Danica Patrick competed in the IRL IndyCar Series once again with a chance at qualifying for the Indianapolis 500. She qualified in third place. A tragedy struck the final practice sessions for the race as Rahal Letterman Racing teammate Paul Dana was killed in a crash the morning of the race. Danica Patrick and fellow Rahal Letterman driver Buddy Rice withdrew from the race immediately.
In the 2007 season, Danica Patrick finished with 4 top 5′s and 11 top 10′s while leading 17 laps on the season.
