Meet Ian Kinsler, an American professional baseball player who is an All-Star second baseman for the Texas Rangers of MLB. See photos, video and a biography of Ian Kinsler here.
Kinsler hit for the cycle during the Rangers game against Baltimore which they won 19-6. He became only the fourth player in the club’s history to do so. The performance snapped Rangers’ five-game losing streak. It reminded the people of the Brooklyn Dodgers’ second baseman Jackie Robinson’s Hall-of Fame performance.
“It is more special to do it on Jackie Robinson Day,” Kinsler said. “He’s the guy who could do everything in the game, hit triples, hit home runs, steal bases, score runs, do everything. It is weird that it’s Jackie Robinson Day and I’m playing second base, but it’s great it happened that way.”
As a biography, Ian Kinsler was born on June 22, 1982, in Tucson, Arizona so his age is 26. He attended Central Arizona College and was named to the second team All-ACCAC. He was later selected by the Texas Rangers in the 17th round of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft as a shortstop.
Kinsler made his MLB debut against the Boston Red Sox in April 2006. He finished his first professional MLB season with a .286 batting average, 55 RBI and 14 homers. Ian was named as the American League Player of the Week in April the next year and finished the season with 20 homers. His next season (2008) was even better. He was named as the AL All Star and finished with a 25-game hitting streak. He was 4th in the AL’s batting average standings.
In his personal life, Ian married Tess Brady in November 2007 and the couple have a son, Rian Brooklynn Kinsler.
