Kyle is one of three current triple-option era fullbacks for the Navy. He is now being compared to the new starting fullback Alexander Teich. He finished his Naval Academy school career with 2,906 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns, the fourth highest in the history of the institution.




As a biography, Kyle Eckle was born on December 30, 1981 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania so his age is 27. He attended Episcopal Academy and was a letterman in both football and baseball. He garnered All-Area and All-City honors there. He then attended the Naval Academy and was considered as the top NFL fullback prospect.

Eckel was also named as the Philadelphia Sportswriters Most Valuable Player.

Starting his professional NFL career, he was picked up by the New England Patriots in April 2005 as a free agent but was waived back in September. He was then signed up by the Miami Dolphins and was put on the Reserve roster.

Kyle’s playing NFL career began in September 2007 with the Patriots and he made his regular season debut during Monday Night Football. His first touchdown came against the Dallas Cowboys. Eckel was released in September 2008, only to be picked up by the Eagles in October.
